I’ve read a ton of books over the years and still keep on reading, despite the blindness that tried to take that away.

Some books stick with us more than others. We can get through all the pages and realize we came away with nothing, or, after poring through the words, we realize we’ve come away from it forever changed.

That’s the case for a few books in particular for me. In fact, I woke up from a dream with the idea for this particular story and just had to share it.

So, what books have had the most influence on me?

Watership Down

“Watership Down” was written by Richard Adams and was originally published in 1972 by Rex Collings Ltd of London.

For those unfamiliar, the story is a complex tale relating the hardships and journey of a set of rabbits — told from their personal perspective — as they make their escape from their doomed warren and find a new home. While the author had trouble finding a publisher for the story at first, because the content was so out-of-the-norm at the time, it has since spawned popular movies and shows and has influenced a lot of writers.
