How you begin your morning can either make or break your productivity and overall mood. That is when half of the world is asleep while you’re awake for a certain purpose. It could be for going to work/class, getting stuff done, hitting the gym, yoga, etc.

The beauty of mornings is that people who wake up between 4am-9am are the ones who wake up WITH A PURPOSE, not for the sake of waking up and having to slouch around the rest of the day.

Personally, I wake up around 7am.

I start my day by doing 30 minutes to 1 hour of Yoga, followed by a quick breakfast depending on my classes schedule. If my classes are scheduled later, I’ll take my time and prepare a delicious breakfast to fuel me up for the day ahead. (nutritious, of course).

The point is that you don’t need a long-drawn picture-perfect morning routine to start your day effectively. By implementing a few small habits into your daily routine, you can assure drastic changes not only in your mornings, but also your entire day overall.

Hence, it’s crucial to establish some healthy habits which aren’t too complex to kickstart your day on the right foot.

Without further ado, here are the top 3 effective ways to start your day:

1. Don’t check your socials in the morning

You’d be surprised on how beneficial it is to stop checking Instagram first thing in the morning. At first, it feels detrimental not to do so. Over time, that temptation of checking social media fades away, as you’ve got much more better things to do.

Instead of starting your day bombarded with other people’s stories and news, use this time to set goals for the day by making a small to-do list, or simply enjoy a few minutes of peace and quiet. Trust me, the morning tranquility is worth more than your Instagram notifications.

2. Drink a glass of water

You’ve heard this quite often. There’s a reason why staying hydrated is given a lot of emphasis.

A glass of water first thing in the morning helps to remove all the toxins from your body. Not only does it help to rehydrate your body after a night of restful sleep, but it also jumpstarts your metabolism, aiding in digestion and promoting weight loss.

Before chugging down your daily dose of caffeine first thing in the morning, drink a glass or two of water. Your body will appreciate it.

3. Move your body

In our bustling modern world, we often neglect our own well-being by coming up with several excuse out of sheer laziness.

Whether it’s squeezing in a quick workout, practicing yoga, hitting the gym, or going for a run, taking care of your body and mind should always be at the forefront of your daily routine. By incorporating it in the morning, you’re prioritizing and ensuring a healthy lifestyle.

Tip: I follow and engage with more gym content on social media. That way, indirectly, while mindlessly scrolling, I get a sense of motivation to fight the urge of lazing around.

Make your social media a source of gaining motivation, not discouragement.

In conclusion, starting your day off right doesn’t require major lifestyle changes. By incorporating these three simple yet effective habits into your morning routine, you can set yourself up for a successful and fulfilling day ahead.

Lastly, I’d like to conclude my article with an inspiring quote.

“Let the improvement of yourself keep you so busy that you have no time to criticize others.”
