Remembering our teenage years in junior high school is somewhat nostalgic. I have learned the three most important lessons, maybe the hard way.

It was a wild ride filled with awkward moments, friendships, and growing pains. Through it all, I learned some valuable lessons that have stayed with me.

Let’s dive into my teenage years’ good, bad, and ugly.

Embrace Your Quirks

I learned a valuable lesson that I will never forget. I learned to accept and embrace my unique quirks and qualities. For example, my love for all things Lord of the Rings or my tendency to randomly burst into song. I realized that these things that make me different also make me special. We all have our own quirks and differences, and that’s what makes life interesting and unique. Embracing these things about ourselves will make for a much more enjoyable journey.

Friends Come and Go

Friendships can be fleeting. It’s never easy to say goodbye to someone you care about, but I learned that it’s important to cherish your time with them. Make the most of it. When a friendship does end, it’s important to keep an open mind and heart to new friendships. Life is always full of new experiences and opportunities to meet new people. So, being open to making new friends and starting new adventures is important. We never know what awaits us in the far future. Until then, keep on going!

It’s Okay to Make Mistakes

I learned that making mistakes is just a normal part of growing up. Whether getting a bad grade on a test or saying something I shouldn’t have, I realized it was all just a part of the learning process. Instead of getting down on myself, I learned to use these mistakes as an opportunity to grow and learn. We all make mistakes, but how we handle them and learn from them defines us as people. Thus, I take mistakes as a way to become a better person and move forward.

I have learned three important lessons during my teenage years: embracing your quirks, understanding that friends come and go, and accepting that it’s okay to make mistakes.

It is all part of growing up and learning about ourselves.

No need to be afraid to make mistakes, embrace who you are and keep an open mind to new friendships. It will make ourselves to be better people in the years ahead.
