Do you know you can access the jaw-dropping views of the Great Kailash mountain from Dalhousie? Mountains are calling you, and you must go! A few months ago, I went to Dalhousie with my office mentors. It was just four of us on an unofficial trip in November. Situated on the mountain’s peak, it offered us a lot of places to visit in Dalhousie incorporating a close look at Kailash Parvat.

It took us 15 hours to reach there from Delhi, India. And I was mesmerised by its divine beauty, clean but curved roads, sceneries from height, colonial architecture, stunning landscape, etc. However, we realised that November is the best time to visit Dalhousie because its bearable cool temperature and mild snowfall allow you to sneak into the best Dalhousie tourist places.

In this guide, I will take you through some of the best places to visit in Dalhousie in 2 days. If you are a travel enthusiast, you can easily cover the most popular destinations including Dainkund Peak, Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary, St. John’s Church, etc. in 2 days just like we did.

So, without further ado, let’s move to the places to visit in Dalhousie in 2 days.

1. St. John’s Church

This church is one of the best demonstrations of colonial architecture, Dalhousie is famous for. It’s a medium-sized church with a stunning entry passage allowing you to capture aesthetic pictures. It won’t take you more than 1 hour even if you delve into its history.

Outside the church, there is a selfie point which is situated at a very high height. But the views are spectacular and suitable for a hilly experience. After paying our respects to Jesus, we finally sat in our booked car and left for our next destination.

2. Panchpula Waterfall

Panchpula Waterfall offers you a calm and peaceful environment, pretty views of the waterfall and various food stalls selling “Pahadon mein Maggie”, momos, tea and many more hot things.

You can enjoy the serene views with a bonfire and some soothing music here. If you are on a solo trip, it won’t make you feel lonely and if you’re with your friends, then you can’t have a better hill experience than this.

You can buy souvenirs and gifts for your loved ones, And if you love adventure, you can explore zip lining of various levels with prices varying with intensity and it’s height.

3. Dainkund Peak

If you are looking for an adventurous and elevated trek (just like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani), Dainkund Peak is the best option for you. It’s situated at a height of 2,755 m and involves a long and intensive trek. With some Maggie breaks in between, the destination is worth all the hard work.

There is a temple devoted to a goddess at the peak and the scenery is mindblowing. However, on the way, the road becomes so narrow that no more than 2 people can walk together. In the moderate temperature season, you can still find some snow at Dainkund Peak. And don’t forget to take some good shots as the blowing air enhances the experience.

4. Khajjiar

Widely popular as the “Mini Switzerland of India”, Khajjiar is a town based in the Chamba Valley of Himachal Pradesh. It’s a plane stretch of land surrounded by lines of tall trees. This place is best for watching the sunrise and sunset. The warm sunshine penetrates directly through the hearts of tourists.

Tourists are advised to be careful here as the wild animals may enter and attack. In addition, it’s also a really nice place for picnics and shooting.

5. Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary

Kalatop Wildlife Sanctuary should be on top of your list if you like adventure. It looks like a dense forest, home to several wildlife animals and beings. It may even scare you as the trees are tall enough not to let sunlight enter.

Adjacent to this is a small but compact settlement. This makes the place alive and fills it with a happening vibe for tourists. Make sure you don’t go in the evening or early morning as it gets even darker and horrific. We got a little late to reach and due to dark weather and its dense landscape, we didn’t go deep inside the sanctuary.

These are the top 5 places to visit in Dalhousie which will leave an everlasting impression on your, mind, heart and soul. Let me warn you, it may be difficult to get over this experience, so do not let your heart stay here for long.
