In our lives, we all encounter situations to convince others of our point of view. This could range from encouraging our best friend to start working out to asking for salary hikes with an employer.

However, sometimes we fail to convince others in some situations. But what if I told you that you would never fail to convince others after reading this story? (I guess 😅)

1. Strong Tone

One of the important strategies in Convincing people is to speak with them using a strong tone. By doing this, It makes your sentence look like commands to the people who are listening to you. It also projects you as a strong person. So never forget to increase your tone while convincing others.

2. Repeat their name

It is a fact that people like to hear their names being called. If you want to convince others, make sure to frequently use Mr. or Mrs. while calling them. This makes them feel valued and also builds trust in you.

3. Change the source

Sometimes the value of an opinion might depend on the person presenting it. For example, there is a difference between getting exercise tips from you and an actual trainer. In this case, most people give more importance to the trainer’s words.

But what if you give your exercise tips as they were given by some popular trainer? This time, everyone gives importance to you. We just increased the power of our words by changing the source.

4. Power of Repetition

Lin Hashire, A famous psychologist found that people tend to believe frequently repeated words, even if they are false. As we continue to repeat the same thing over and over again, the people who hear that start to believe it to be true.

This is why advertisers often repeat the same advertisement multiple times.

5. Talk quickly

Experts say, If you want to convince others, you need to speak faster than normal. Speaking fast gives the listener less time to process your words and they cannot able to think from another perspective.

The research shows that people believe that fast speakers are more knowledgeable and confident.
