We now live in a world where almost everyone is quick to speak but slow to listen. Our attention span has been limited.

We are quick to object to sentences before we even listen at all.

We are surrounded by our thoughts, waiting for them to consume or overshadow the other person’s words before they even let the words out of their mouth.

Why?

Most people listen, but active listening is the new gold.

It’s tough to actively listen to others without being distracted by our thoughts or making quick initial judgments about what the other person is about to say or say.

Listening is one of the most important skills we can possess, but it’s also one of the hardest to master.
