At the time of writing this, I’ve got 75 minutes more of 2020, and then, just like that, this roller coaster of a year will have ended. And like all good things and bad, looking back always gives you a new perspective.

As horrible as this year may have been, especially for the people and families that were affected by a range of catastrophes it unleashed, there were a few rude reminders and lessons that the year leaves us with. Some lessons that we must not forget or nature might feel the need to give us yet another reminder that we might not like.

#1 — Fall in love…with yourself

There’s never been a year when each one of us has had to spend more time with ourselves, or with a much smaller set of people than we’re used to otherwise.

It has also taught us that the only constant companion in our lives is our own self. So while people and things around us will come and go, the central character of our lives will be us. It never hurts to love the most important part of your life, and it makes it a lot easier to spend a quarantine with your favorite person if you ever have to go through one!

#2 — Find your own immediate…
