6 Health Markers Everyone Over 40 Should Be Tracking (But Most Aren’t)

--

Weight and BMI won’t tell you the truth. These are the real indicators of whether you’re aging well or heading toward disease.

If you’re over 40 and still tracking weight or BMI as your main health indicators, you’re missing the bigger picture.

Most people assume that “normal weight” equals good health, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.

The real threats — insulin resistance, inflammation, visceral fat — build quietly beneath the surface.

By the time symptoms show up, it’s often too late.

These six science-backed markers are what I recommend tracking instead, if you want to stay lean, sharp, and healthy long term.

1. Body Fat Percentage > BMI

BMI ignores muscle mass.

You can be “normal weight” and still carry dangerous fat levels.

15% body fat is ideal for most men, 20% for women.

Track your body fat, not just your weight.

2. HbA1c — Average Blood Sugar

Hemoglobin A1c shows your average blood sugar over 3 months.

Above 5.7%?
