Like many writers, I share stories from life experiences, but what most don’t know is that I take it a step further with actual research.
For instance, several of my blog ideas came from conversations with men on a popular dating app. It might seem odd, but to me, it's just two consenting adults talking — no personal details of theirs revealed and more importantly, no hearts broken in the process.
I’ll start by saying what struck me most from these conversations with Indian men: contrary to what Bollywood often portrays, Indian men working in the US are some of the loneliest guys I’ve encountered. They’re buried in work or juggling co-parenting schedules, leaving little time for much else. Hence, they hop on dating apps hoping to make a connection.
It’s a jungle out there, and more often than not, mental health pays the price.
In comparison, a conventionally attractive woman can rack up hundreds of likes and dozens of matches in no time, but it’s not the same story for a man.
