The water brigade is on the lose again. All it takes is for one woman to state that her new year’s resolution is to drink more water and loads of other females decide they’re going to drink more water too. What’s remarkable is, is that it’s mainly women who want to drink more water. Seldom will you hear of a guy who wants to join the water brigade?

To squash the 8 glasses of water myth once and for all let me say that drinking too much water is actually be harmful. The trouble started with calling it ‘water’. Whoever started the initiative to drink more should have said ‘liquid’ not water.

When people get up in the morning and drink coffee, tea, or juice, that’s liquid. When they get to work and make another cup of coffee or tea, that’s liquid. When they eat an apple or orange, that’s liquid. As for consuming a beer or a glass of wine, well, that’s liquid too. So people get enough liquid in their bodies without realizing it and don’t need to supplement it with water.

If you don’t like to taste of coffee or tea, and shy away from juices and soft drinks, then fine, drink water, but don’t go guzzling it all day long. You might just give yourself water poisoning. But don’t take my word for it, this is what Web MD and Medical News Today have to say:
