Let’s be honest: Most people don’t know how to google something properly.

Googling a whole sentence often leads to unsatisfying results. Even if you already understood that keywords work best, you surely can do better.

Google offers us a feature called search parameters — yet, most people don’t know about this. Search parameters help to filter the results we get. It regularly saves me a ton of time and frustration. Before we dive into the list, here is an example, what a parameter can do for you.

Imagine you want to find the Facebook profile of a person called “John Doe” — therefore, you start googling for “John Doe” or “John Doe Facebook” (I know you could look it up on Facebook; it’s just an example).

But these two searches will also return a bunch of pages that aren’t relevant to you because they aren’t Facebook pages.

Thank god we can tell Google much more precisely what we want. Thanks to a simple search parameter, we can specify that Google should only show us search results from facebook.com.
