A Conversation with Loneliness

Blank Verse

Photo by Geoffroy Hauwen on Unsplash

I once asked loneliness — “What’s your definition?”
Loneliness chuckled and said — “I’m always with you,
how don’t you know what I’m?”
I said — “I may not really know you
and you confuse me sometimes.
Though I like your presence, I’m scared of you.”
