A land unknown
A night like that…
Passing by a land
unknown
I rest under
the dark
starry sky
A glaring moon
beaming back at me
clouds playing hide
and seek
Trees blanket over me
cushioning me
from the creatures
of the night
Nestling my backpack
I surrender
bewitched by the magic
circling the moonlight
Birds try to slumber me
back to sleep
protecting me
from the cascading
shadows of self-doubt
Greeting me up
with morning dew
tears trickling
from leaf ducts
swaying in the
morning breeze
startling me up
from my slumber
I am welcomed by
a crackle, a bang,
peals of thunder
Grey and foggy
turns the morning sky
carrying by
the lurking signs
of monsoon rains
and a flood nearby
Waves gasp
for the shore
tracing back foam
away from the shore
Breaking barriers
unknown
The white sand
turns pitch black
sucking earth
beneath my feet
imprinting footprints
digging holes
in the burrows
of my soul
