The cicada’s shrill call could be heard all throughout the day, and I wondered what it would be like to be them. To be so loud, so obstructive, even if for just six short weeks.

I thought that they, despite their grotesque appearance, were in some way a good role model for us humans. They are truly an example of living your life…
