There are myriads of treatments available on the Internet for back pain. Which ones are good? Which ones are useless and a waste of money? Which ones can actually harm your back?

I carried out a research-based study of all treatments available and came up with this analysis for an insurance company that has been verified by experts and implemented. This may be useful for you to choose the right and effective treatment for your back pain and avoid useless and harmful methods.

EFFECTIVE TREATMENTS

If you have pain for the first time or have a sudden spasm of back pain, please follow the sequence of treatments outlined below:

Heat and cold therapy

  • Apply an ice pack or a bag of frozen vegetables for 10 minutes every few hours to the sore area. Numbs the nerves and relaxes tense muscles in the area.
  • Use heat from Day 2 if the pain has not subsided. Heat increases blood flow and aids healing. Apply for 20–30 minutes twice or thrice daily.
