This road to liberation, it’s engulfed in flames
a pathway paved with smoldering coals, no gold,
and, without an ounce of good intentions.
Actions were planted, we followed directions,
led to step on a road ablaze
Without a shoe for comfort,
Embracing the pain.
Stepping forward, a pain quickened heartbeat,
burning skin, seared feet
decaying flesh, holding breath
crackling sounds, deafened ears
smoke and mirrors, blinded eyes
Frozen barefoot, standing on burning coals,
Knowing the cause of pain and suffering
Why stop halfway, we’ve made it this far?
A Trial By Fire is an expedient path!
This narrow road leads to strength of heart,
an unbounded source of pure potential.
