Absurdism, Summarizing Camus
Albert Camus, known for his philosophy of Absurdism. Here’s a poem I wrote which tries to summarize the major beliefs of an absurdist.
In the midst of life’s great absurdity,
A rebel emerges with tenacity.
He rejects the chains of conformity,
And embraces life’s inherent ambiguity.
For Camus, the world is a paradox,
A place where meaning is hard to unbox.
But in this chaos, there’s freedom to choose,
To create our own values and refuse to lose.
The myth of Sisyphus may seem grim,
But his fate is what gives life its vim.
For even in the face of certain defeat,
We can still find joy in the effort to compete.
So let us embrace the absurdity of life,
And reject the shackles of society’s strife.
For in our rebellion, we can find true meaning,
And live a life that’s worth the dreaming.
