Can Anything Be Done About It?
Things are squirrelly these days.
A friend of mine and I speak daily — we often ask each other — what on earth is going on today?
Why are curveballs being pitched every week to so many people, unexpected happenings that require dropping everything, pivoting our focus to things that come out of left field requiring our full attention and energy?
Is it us, we lament? Are we being singled out?
The answer is no — not just us, we are all being singled out.
Each and every one of us is experiencing tremors that come just before earthquakes happen. Most of them unexpected earthquakes, and not the good kind.
Some of this is personal and a lot of it is also societal. If change and transformation is the name of the game of this decade, this era, then we’re in the early innings.
What’s happening in America is something no one is immune to. You would have to be living under a rock not to experience it. We are living through unprecedented times — the United States is hot mess right now with nary an end in sight.
