An October Trip in Odda

A reunion with the city where I grew up. Despite the fact that it is now many years since I grew up here, I still feel the attraction to Odda, this small industrial town in the western parts of Norway.

One might ask why I still feel this attraction to the city under the mountain.

— Is it the streets, the buildings? Is it the people? Or is it nature, the Fjord, Folgefonna, Buarbreen, the mighty, high mountains with the giant Rossnos leaning over the city?

There is something special about Hardanger and Odda, something we will not be completely done with.

Many live their lives here. Others leave and occasionally — sometimes never — come back. I am one of the lucky ones who have a reason to travel back.
