An Open Letter to Elon Musk
Want to know why people hate you?
Dear Elon Musk, I watched the video of your interview in which you seemed genuinely confused and on the verge of tears, asking why anyone would want to hurt you. You even called Tim Walz a jerk and a creep for celebrating the fall of Tesla’s stock price.
You said you couldn’t understand why anyone would hate you because you have done nothing wrong. If you are sincere, I would like to offer you some possible insights.
Once, not so long ago, you were a kind of hero. You were producing electric cars to make driving safer and the environment healthier. You created companies to make it easier for people to conduct financial transactions.
You put satellites in the sky to connect the world. You were admired for your business expertise that made you the richest man on the planet. You were applauded as a visionary who was making the world a better place.
But, you began to alienate people when you started using your wealth to buy things that shouldn’t be bought. Like elections. Like the presidency.
You lost a lot of supporters when you flaunted the number of children (is it 14 now?) that you fathered with an unknown number (5?) of women.
And when you stood on stage waving a chainsaw to celebrate what will eventually be…
