Are We Any Different?
Inspired by Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”
The road less traveled, we often say,
But do we choose it in every way,
Do we dare to venture where it leads,
Or do we follow the crowd, with our beliefs?
For in a world of judgment and hate,
It’s easy to fall and seal our fate,
To discriminate and see with disdain,
And forget the beauty that lies within.
But are we really so diverse,
Or is it just a flimsy curse,
A veil of illusion, that clouds our sight,
And blinds us to the truth of life?
For deep down, we are all the same,
With beating hearts and endless flame,
With dreams and fears and love untold,
And memories that never grow old.
So let us question our thoughts and ways,
And break free from the judgmental gaze,
For in diversity, lies our strength,
And the power to conquer any length.
So tell me, dear friend, are we any different,
Or is it just a fleeting present?
