Who could have thought Jerusalema, a gospel song written by a South African, Master KG, would go viral this year with over 68-million views last time I looked!

Whatever our religion, our spiritual beliefs, our customs — giving praise with our voices and moving our bodies to a universal rhythm has the power to unite us — to bring us together.

The song begins with the line “Jerusalem is my home…” — a holy city for Muslims, Jews and Christians alike.

A spiritual home.

Psalm 150.4 says, “Praise him with timbrel and dancing.”

Thousands of people around the world have taken up the dance challenge and shared their videos.

Whatever your spiritual beliefs, I’m sure you won’t be able to resist the euphoria of listening, watching, joining in or creating your own video!

I’ve provided the English translation of Jerusalema and a link to the official video — and my favorite dance challenge featuring nuns and priests dancing to the song.

Jerusalem is my home
Guide me
Take me with You
Do not leave me here
Jerusalem is my home
Guide me
Take me with you
Do not leave…
