We all know about the pros and cons list because most of us make them. We try to find solutions to our problems by making lists and reasons to find the safest way, one consisting of the least number of risks. Our reasons can fall either on the pros or cons side of the list based on the number of risks we are willing to take. When we are willing to take our chances, we see things in a new light, and we are ready to take risks even with the probability of things going wrong.

We sometimes hesitate to take risks in our careers, business, or private life because we are scared to replace the static we have in our lives, given the probability of adding chaos along with changes in our life. We at times are so concerned with all the things that could go wrong, that we don’t see things that could go right too. We are scared to be hopeful, wishful, moving on with life, and thinking things can go easily. We don’t want any turbulence in life and want things to remain the same way it has been.

It’s not like we wish to go with the flow, but rather we just want things to remain in the same place they have always been. We believe even if things are difficult, we can handle this much and we just keep on dragging the burden instead of taking the chance and unburdening it. We are scared to want something badly enough to take risks to make it happen.

What we seem to forget in all of this is that just wishing things were different won’t make them different. Wishing to be static and not wanting to take risks could make your life a charnel house of what-ifs, buried hopes, and happiness. Moving forward can seem to be difficult with all the risk-related stress, trauma, and sadness we burden ourselves with. We need to remember that all the things we come across, be they good or bad, are just parts of different stages of life. All those things help us come to terms with various situations we go through in life. We need to start trusting ourselves and taking jumps knowing the fact that, even if things could go wrong it is worth taking the risk.
