How much have you worked on getting to know yourself better? Why would you want to? If you are like most of us, you have plenty of blind spots that hinder your progress in different ways. They can frustrate your efforts to no end until you see them. But how do you find them? Let’s look at how to enhance your journey to self-discovery.

How well do you know yourself?

While it may sound silly to some, ask yourself, “How well do I know myself?” If you are thinking, “Is it even possible to know myself better since I already know who I am?” To answer that question, let’s turn to one of the greatest philosophers of all time, a man well-known for his wisdom:

“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Aristotle (384–322 BC)

Before Aristotle, we find his teacher, Plato (who founded the Western world’s first institution of higher learning called the Academy), saying:

“Do thine own work, and know thyself.” Plato (428–348 BC)

Even earlier, Plato’s teacher, Socrates, said:

“My friend…care for your psyche…know thyself, for once we know ourselves, we may learn how to care for ourselves” Socrates (470–399 BC)
