After 25 years of missionary work in Africa the rector, his wife, and four children arrived home to be appointed to a wintery, cold Australian Parish. The house was large, two storeys, old and freezing.
The bedrooms and the bathroom all opened onto the upstairs verandah, which caused much dashing about in underwear along the verandah…
