Movies like Terminator, Ex Machina, Upgrade, and The Matrix promised that artificial intelligence could mean the end of humanity. The far more boring truth is that AI might merely predict it.

Or — as in the case of DALL-E, an image-generating AI recently opened for public use — artificial intelligence might illustrate the end of whatever you ask.
