A Glimpse Into Luke Shemroske’s Art
Recently, I started interviewing artists and writing about their work and inspiration. This article is about a painter named Luke Shemroske.
Luke grew up in the Chicago suburbs. He discovered his gift for painting and drawing as a child in the '90s. He often drew pictures during the middle of his classes, some of which got him into trouble. Since he struggled with depression, drawing allowed him to process and release his feelings.
His art currently involves a variety of subjects and moods. It includes trees, flowers, city scenes, and people with different facial expressions. Luke also captures everyday objects like food, drinks, and furniture.
He proactively seeks inspiration, particularly in nature and the city. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago for two semesters, but it was difficult for him to attend classes.
"I liked going into the city and drawing," Luke said. "I wouldn’t go to class sometimes because I just wanted to draw."
