It is generally perceived that you become a reflection of your associations. “Show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are.”

Those with whom we frequently interact eventually influence our thoughts and outlook on life. Relationships with grouchy or negative people have a negative impact on our mood and zest for life.

There are seven (7) types of people you should avoid if you want to stay positive, upbeat, and vibrant in life.

1. WHEELBARROW PERSONALITY

This group of people drains your energy and wastes your time. Such people expect you to do everything for them. They are self-centered and only think about themselves. They are unconcerned about your well-being.

They believe it is your responsibility to solve their problems. One of the worst things about “wheelbarrow” people is that even after you’ve worked hard to load it, you’ll still have to work hard to push it before it moves.

Wheelbarrow personalities consume a lot of energy, time, and resources.

2. MOSQUITO PERSONALITY

As the name implies, and as is typical of mosquitoes, this species is only interested in sucking goodies from your life while injecting poison as a replacement. They seek advantages but will never add value to your life.

Mosquito people have nothing to offer but are always looking for goodness from others. The worst thing about “Mosquitos” is that they only sing around you when they want to suck your blood and give you malaria.

Mosquito people only sing your praises when they have something to gain from you, then backbite and backstab you.

3. SCAFFOLDING PERSONALITY

The utility of “scaffolding” is temporary.

People in this category are glory seekers and takers. They would want to be god over your life simply because they have helped you in the past. Simply put, they are arrogant. They want to have complete control over you and dictate the course of your life. They want you caged and never free to shine on your own, but always subservient to them.

You must be aware of when scaffolding people have become a hindrance to your personal development and progress. When their timer runs out, disconnect immediately.

4. CROCODILE PERSONALITY

This group of people is nothing more than pretenders. They are not drawn to you for good reasons or with good intentions. They only become acquainted with your secrets and may use whatever personal information they have about you against you at the slightest provocation or disagreement. Crocodiles are liars, backstabbers, gossipers, and twaddlers, among other things.

Crocodiles would pretend to gain your empathy, leaving you vulnerable to their attack.

5. THE CHAMELEON PERSONALITY

This class of people is envious and jealous, just as the chameleon tries to adapt or compete with its environment. They are constantly in an unhealthy competition with you.

They act as if they are traveling in the same direction as you, but their true intention is to silently monitor your life’s progress with evil and negative intentions. They are jealous of your success and thus engage in competitive jealousy with you. Chameleon friends are cloaking friends who will never support or celebrate your progress but will always magnify your failures and mistakes.

Being around jealous and envious people can sabotage your efforts, frustrate your plans, and destroy your dreams.

6. NAYSAYERS

These pessimistic individuals are dream killers. They will never appreciate your dreams and will never support them. They always have a hundred and one reasons why your dream or plan is impossible. They never notice your efforts, but will always capitalize on your failures to mock your personality.

They’ll always see your cup as half-empty rather than half-full. They would be busy creating new problems for you while you worked on solutions. They suffocate passion and sap hope.

Naysayers have no dreams or goals, so they will neither appreciate nor support yours.

7. THE GARBAGE PUSHER

This is the worst type of person. They have nothing positive to say. Their lives are littered with debris, dirt, and trash. They spread bad and negative news. They disseminate depressing and discouraging information.

When they appear on the scene, it means they have something negative to say. They are peddlers of bad luck and negative development.

Garbage pushers are the first to tweet, post, and broadcast ungodly, unfortunate, unprofitable, and heartbreaking information.

You recognize them from your friend list. You must avoid them at all costs because the havoc they cause is sometimes irreversible.

It is our primary responsibility to protect our mind and territory from anyone or anything that diminishes or threatens our happiness.

Keep in mind that the happier you are, the healthier you will become. Avoid negative people at all costs if you want to stay optimistic, upbeat, and forward-thinking.

Examine your life and the types of people you are surrounded by. Your life can only move in the right direction if you associate with positive people and avoid negative people.

It is also worthwhile to check yourself to ensure that you are not a stumbling block in the way of others’ progress. Make an effort not to fall into any of these personality types so that you are not blacklisted by colleagues.
