BARE: UNCENSORED POETRY
30/30Project Day #8: FOR ADIE
FOR ADIE
We breathed Golden Circles
Forgetful of time and money
We were fuelled by hope
Driven by love
We were (energy) hurricanes?
Sitting in the margins under Golden Arches
We found our sisters by choice
Sidestepping suits, we created
Flowerful calendars brimming with hope
To track our drills.
No time for rehearsals
Rolling each other up the hill
And through the garden
We finally stood
Centre stage
In the People’s House.
Ice cold glasses, chilled champagne
Overflowing teapots and
Stacks of receipts
Tell the story
Of body paint to pantsuit.
Outsiders then, disrupters now
Hefty cards don’t matter; they never did>
Part of the mob, down south, you say
Our crowded marginalia intersect.
