Be Quick or Be Outpaced

It’s often the small things that distinguish ordinary people from successful individuals.

Minor traits or habits that may seem insignificant can compound over time to create a significant difference.

One of them is the speed of execution.

Let me explain.

When an idea pops into your mind, it’s usually the best moment to start making it a reality because it’s when you can easily enter a flow state.

That’s the key difference.

If you get an idea, but don’t act on it immediately due to various reasons such as procrastination or fear, you’re being outpaced by your competitors.

Because they know how powerful the initial flow state is, which kicks when you get an idea.

Imagine if you get an idea for an article, and you say to yourself that you will do it later. The idea won’t disappear, right?

Well, I don’t think so, but you’ll be probably faced with a blank page and no vision of how to start writing.

So as soon as you get an insight, act on it.

But, don’t get me wrong here.

I’m not suggesting you blindly pursue every idea without consideration.

But you should at least write it down on a piece of paper or whatever you want and reflect on it.

If you skip this, you’ll likely miss numerous opportunities.

Final thoughts

Remember, every time you get an idea:

“If it’s a good idea, do it today, not tomorrow. A good idea rarely gets better over time.”

— Larry Winget
