In many countries closer to the north, individuals grapple with cold temperatures, darkness setting in as early as 4:30 PM, and the absence of sunlight for extended periods. How does one stay upbeat in such weather? How can productivity be maintained despite the cold and other weather-related challenges?

In my case, I find solace in immersing myself in UI/UX design. When my mood is low, I switch to watching comedies, lift my spirits by preparing something unusual and delicious, play festive songs, and indulge in some impromptu karaoke.

Depression is an external negativity that we either absorb or repel. I’ve come to realize that as we age, controlling our thoughts becomes more challenging. Thoughts wander from pleasant memories to the darkest ones we wish to forget.

I believe the best way to halt this process is to engage in activities you enjoy. Love drawing? Grab your brushes and canvas and get to work. Enjoy singing? Play your favorite music and sing along. Have a passion for crafting? Create. Winter is not a reason to be melancholic; it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in what you genuinely love.

Sometimes, people are unsure of their likes and dislikes. In such cases, I believe it’s essential to revisit your childhood interests. Start creating, even if it feels awkward at first. The key is to begin and progress step by step, getting absorbed in the process and pushing depression away.

It’s advisable to steer clear of horror movies and negative news and shift to feel-good films that evoke positivity. The goal is to surround yourself with uplifting content.

As winter casts its chilly spell, finding joy in personal pursuits becomes crucial. Whether it’s through creative endeavors, music, or simply indulging in favorite pastimes, embracing what brings happiness can be a powerful antidote to the winter blues.

As we immerse ourselves in activities we love, connect with positive influences, and prioritize self-care, we pave the way for a happier and healthier winter. So, let this season be a time of creativity, warmth, and well-being. Don’t let worries linger in the chill; instead, focus on the things that bring you joy and take good care of your mental and physical health. Winter may be cold, but your heart can be filled with the warmth of contentment and happiness. Here’s to a winter filled with positivity and self-care!
