Become Media Literate in 2025: Avoid These Buzzwords
Not many people talk about viral trends and slam journalism — Did I do that right?

In 2025, it’s safe to say society is consumed by buzzwords that target media-illiterate consumers. A decade ago, online lists showcasing “5 ways to blah, blah” dominated popular media outlets. Media consumers became aware of clickbait lists and have since been turned off by those phrases.
However, media consumers are blind to how those buzzwords have evolved over the years. Here are phrases I’m avoiding in 2025 and forevermore because they’re obviously created for clicks and not to inform.
Few things people know about
When a creator divulges something that “nobody is talking about right now,” chances are high that somebody is, in fact, talking about that subject. Actually, chances are high that so many people with better knowledge than the creator are talking about that subject, and the creator or outlet just stumbled upon it before you did.
