However, emotional self-care is one part of self-care that many individuals neglect. Emotional self-care is a strategy that people who are easily agitated, frustrated, or burned out, whether in interpersonal interactions or professional settings, can use to enhance their emotional health and general quality of life.

Self-Care: What Is It?

Self-care is essentially taking care of oneself. Taking the time to unwind or do activities we enjoy makes us feel better psychologically, emotionally, and physically. Exercise, meditation, rest, spiritual practises, and treating oneself to regular bubble baths, spa days, or other presents are a few examples of self-care activities. These hobbies can improve our health, lower our stress levels, and make us feel better about ourselves.

In contrast to other types of care, such as dependent care, where the person acting and the person acted upon are different, and nursing care, where the person acting does so on behalf of another (such as the patient, the patient’s family, or hospital policy), self-care is notable in that the individual is both the one acting and the one being acted upon.
