Knowing that I would be cocooning after the election, my good friend, Dan Lee, recently shared a video with me that has changed some aspects of my life in both good and less good ways. Before watching this talk, I had never heard of Richard Wolff. But I should have.

Before I dive into what happened after watching this lecture:

Almost everyone I’m close to is a strong Democrat. None of us was prepared for the election results, many hunkering down into a state of depression, anxiety, and downright panic about what might come next. It wasn’t a case of “the sky is falling.” It was more like the entire cosmos had caved in on top of us, and we were all going to perish in hideous ways.

No other topic of conversation, not even our three solid weeks of rain, could compete with the gloom, doom, and cancerous angst spreading through society.

I have long held the rule for visitors in my home that “Politics stops here,” at the front door. The same holds for my social media pages. No one has my permission to post political rants in my personal spaces.
