Wishing the one you loved could be physically here
Instead of speaking to you through a screen
The birthday alone
Freedom captivated the surrounding air
Just be yourself
Stress has its existence eradicated
Do you still wish your loved one to be here or
Do you prefer to busk in the glow of freedom
With absolutely no pretence
No careful words obliged every minute
No constant efforts of meticulous consideration
Independent from any strings attached
Gently awarded with the privilege of speaking one’s mind exactly as it is

Being supported by a kind community
Of no judgemental eyes
But eyes filled with unconditional love and care

Looking at the dusty mirror
At one’s reflection
Which looked so familiar but seemingly distant

The frail lines on the cheeks
Sparked tiny wild fires of worries
A gentle finger laid on them
Smoothing and following them till the end of the lines
Wandering when would there be an end of time?
Who doesn’t wish for immortality and eternal youth?
As one wanders through the passage of time
One seeks for the light
That makes everything feels worthwhile
A birthday to commemorate the birth of a first cry
To welcome a new life
A new beginning it shall be
