Dementia is on the rise — in fact, cognitive decline is becoming worse every year and affects about 1 in 9 adults within the US.

But one thing doctors mention is that your risk might be significantly lowered when making simple changes in your diet.

Suppose you eat a diet high in natural, fresh and wholesome foods daily, along with less processed (or none).

In that case, you have the best chance of improving your brain health, maintaining a good weight, and diminishing your chances of disease.

Our biggest culprit foods contain lots of sodium, sugar and saturated fats, which are part and parcel of the traditional Westernised diet.

If a person were to change 10% of this and eat a whole-food diet, they would have the capacity to decrease their risk of cognitive decline by 19 per cent dramatically!

Poor diets fail to give our brains the essential protective nutrients and flood the brain with toxic substances.
