From all that is imposed

Break free
From all
That shackles the mind

The shackles
Of belief reinforced by fear
Of what ifs and why mes

Of complaints and regrets and moments that didn’t last
Of everything that passed and belongs to the past

Of broken promises and expectations unmet
Of insecurity, neglect,
words said and words unsaid

Of tangled, twisted thoughts, of torn ties
Of all institutions grounded on deceit and lies

The shackles of thoughts, keep the mind in cage
Such potential for beauty turns into hatred and rage

Detach
Break the bonds
Loosen the ties
Cut the cords

For to live
Is to be free
Free from all
That is imposed
