Business Continuity (BC) is the level of readiness to handle an emergency or disruption in everyday, business operations. A robust BC plan ensures an organization can weather any storm, albeit a natural disaster, cyber-attack, or global pandemic. At its core, Business Continuity encompasses a set of proactive strategies and procedures designed to maintain essential functions during and after a disruption. It’s not just about surviving, it’s about thriving.

What kinds of incidents, emergencies, or disruptions are business continuity plans designed to address? See below.

· Supply Chain Failure. Example: blockage of the Suez Canal.

· Utility Outage. Example: 2021 winter storm takes down Texas grid.

· Cyber Attach. Example: Marriott Hotel 2018 attach.
