Africa

It can run 10 to 12 miles per hour and is one of the deadliest snakes in the world. It’s about 9 feet long and can be up to 12 feet. It is a nervous creature and will not let a human approach it any closer than 75 feet away. It is angered and annoyed easily and will stand up to about 4 or 6 feet while it shakes its head giving out a long, frightening hiss.

It never bluffs and is quick to attack. It will run passed you getting away while biting you numerous times. Since it raises up so high there is no part of you that is safe.

Fortunately for us, there are no Black Mamba snakes in the United States. They are in parts of Africa, such as, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Angola, and parts of South Africa.

Hawaii

The state of Hawaii has no snakes at all. You are fined $25,000 it importing a snake of any type.

Guam

In 1950 a brown tree snake was accidentally brought into Guam and the bird population was decimated. Twelve species, found nowhere else were wiped out, have disappeared from the island.

Hawaii officials are fearful that this snake will show up there. They have found a few but were dead.
