Can A Random Lunch Gathering Bring Gifts Beyond Food?

I had a moment this week that gave me pause, but a pause in all good ways.
It started off with an invitation to a group lunch by a friend. I wasn’t sure I would make it given a busy morning schedule and an unexpected call that needed my immediate attention.
When I finally got in my car to drive downtown, I was committed to show up — for one, my friend and host who brought together this neat group of six people — and two, for me, to maintain a commitment to supporting the connection and introduction of women leaders and entrepreneurs.
Ease of parking helps with serendipity if you’re in the right place and the right time in a city. That day, I was.
I made my way into the restaurant, sat down, we went through introductions and I placed my lunch order.
This was not a group of individuals who all knew each other. While I knew two of the women, it was intended to be a gathering of new people with the intention of networking in person. Something we are all now enjoying post-pandemic.
