It is hard to single out a happy day to celebrate the most important women in our lives, mothers — the real creators, the quintessential gifts. Since it is a special day, I would like to share excerpts of the two pieces I have written on mothers. And, as a reflection that I am becoming my own mother(s). Fragrance of My Mother

The most heavenly perfume I have ever smelt and the one I truly love

I wrote this article when I accidentally found my mother’s handkerchief in my dresser. The fragrance was out-of-the-world.

Her fragrance is in no way normal. Our entire house is filled with her aroma — bedsheets, clothes, dining table mats, and in fact, the air. It is so hard to define that perfume.
