The Duke of Edinburgh, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, visited my home town in England’s Lancashire county in 1979, where he met and chatted with Charlie Chaplin … one of the superstars from the age of Silent Movies.

And can you believe it? … after the two of them finished their chat, Charlie came to my house and had a chat with me! Its true … read on:

It was May 2nd 1979 and the Duke of Edinburgh came to my home town of Oldham in the north West of England. During his visit he was introduced to another celebrity … it was Charlie Chaplin.

They had a chat, walking off into the sunset, and then … Charlie came home … to my house!

Hold on”, I hear you say:
Charlie Chaplin, the famous movie star comedian of the silent movie era?” Famous for his bowler hat, his walking stick, and his funny walk? He died in 1977? This ‘Charlie’ must have been an imposter.
