ChatGPT versus Writing Assistant
Which One Should You Use?
I realize there is controversy surrounding the use of AI anything, when it comes to writing. For the most part I agree with this. I prefer writing my own words and not using AI at all. However, escaping AI completely is almost impossible. Even as I write this paragraph, the built-in interface for Medium was making suggestions. What is this other than a lower form of AI?
The same can be said about Grammarly and ProWritingAid, which use extensions to review and analyze your document as you write. Both of these tools have AI built into them to improve your writing. They openly admit this.
ChatGPT
I have been using ChatGPT to research cybersecurity information for my day job, with great success. I started using it to flesh out my potential book, a story about my Global Hitchhiking experience, sailing around the world on other people’s boats by working as crew.
I already have several chapters written and wanted to see what ChatGPT could do for me. I decided to use its “Explore GPTs” feature and found one called “Writing Assistant.” I began sharing my ideas for the book and was met with encouragement and excitement as well as a plethora of ideas regarding Table of Contents, how to organize it into chapters, how I can use my poems to pepper it…
