15 Life Lessons from the Wrong Side of 30s
So, this week I hit the big 4–0h and let me tell you, noticing signs of ageing on your face can be a bit disheartening. But hey, the wisdom and perspective gained along the way, more than make up for it.
It’s funny how when I was a kid, 40 was old, but now that I am right at 40, I don’t feel old at all! Reaching the apex of your mortal bell curve is not all sunshine and rainbows, but it’s not all doom and gloom either. I am immensely grateful for the experiences, the people, and the opportunities that have brought me to this point in my life.
Perhaps the most valuable thing I have learnt is that life is unpredictable, and that the only thing you can truly control is how you react to the challenges that come your way. I am incredibly lucky to have the unwavering love and support of my parents, husband, and daughter who never fail to remind me what true love is all about, and all my family and friends, old and new, who have enriched my life in countless ways.
