Chronicle: You’ve got a friend in me
And as the years go by, our friendship will never die
Have you ever heard of mutual antipathy? I believe so. It happens a lot with women. You look and say, I didn’t like so-and-so. Why’s that? I don’t know, I just didn’t. It makes you laugh, such a nonsense situation. You don’t even know that person, you don’t know anything about their history. Or what might have happened to them the day you met them. But that’s it, the person has already been condemned by you, and you can’t even explain why. What is good is when you realise that you have found a friend in someone you have just met.
I’m not talking about love at first sight. Meeting the love of your life in a coffee shop. Or that rainy day on a train ride. Nothing like that. I mean mutual trust, the joy of being close. The desire to know more and share moments. Smiling when remembering some hardship that you are still going through because you have just met. But you already know that you will have a storey to tell.
I believe in the signs. Sent by God, by the Universe, by good energies that connect, you can refer to it as you prefer. I believe in them. An unexpected presentation. You arrived at the same time and had not planned to go. The smile is common right away. Whoever is nearby also rejoices. A new connection has just happened. That is not what you went there for. You were not looking for a new friendship. For me, this is another sign.
Want another one? Do you know those watches that are connected to everything and monitor your life? It goes off. It tells you that your heartbeat is up. But now is not the time. I need more time to start a new friendship. Too late to ignore the signs. The little Pastel, from box number 15 at the animal shelter, has won my heart. And I just don’t know how I will negotiate this at home.
