Cognitive empathy is a superpower & it is different from regular empathy that we all understand.

While having regular empathy in business can be detrimental, cognitive empathy serves as a powerful tool to take your business to the next level or have a smooth corporate life.

Empathy is defined as the ability to understand & share the feelings of another.

Incidentally, empathy has three types — Emotional empathy, Compassionate empathy & finally we have Cognitive empathy.

Emotional empathy is when you feel the emotions of the opposite person, be it sorrow, joy, or anger. Sometimes it can be overwhelming to the extent that the recipient is hung up with those feelings for days or months.

Compassionate empathy is when you feel the emotions, but also you go ahead and do something to aid the person towards whom you are empathetic. Emotional empathy is like crying with someone, while compassionate empathy is trying to do something about it.
