Come to Dubai Habibi — A Year in My Life As A Software Engineer in Dubai
To set the context first.
I’m a person who loves going into new experiences and meeting new people always.
Because this is the best way to build new perspectives in life.
It all started two years ago when I was working fully remotely in a tech start-up as a software engineer.
The job was fine, and I was getting a good salary.
However, it was isolating and boring.
You only connect with your teammates in the stand-up, and the rest is pushing tickets to production.
So I decided that I needed to travel to get a break. And that was the starting point for this story.
Me and one of my friends decided to travel to Dubai as a vacation. Because it’s near from my hometown “Dammam” and it was perfect for beach activities.
I will be honest with you.
I immediately felt in love.
The city is vibrant and full of life and opportunities.
