Job hunting has become a nightmare

Employers don’t want to take chances anymore. They don’t want to spend money on training programs. That’s why companies are filling entry-level positions with people who have 3–5 years of work experience.

The jobs are not entry-level. The paychecks are, however.

The interview process has gotten longer. Imagine doing six rounds of interviews for one job. It happens.

Sometimes, candidates must do several interviews in one day. These are called “super days.” There are also personality assessments and take-home assignments. Don’t forget about the “casual” lunch get-togethers with the entire team.

Good jobs are hard to come by.

Have you read the news lately? There are lots of job openings out there. Corporate America is facing a labor shortage. Companies are doing all sorts of things to recruit employees, everything besides significantly raising wages of course. Some companies are giving out free iPhones. Other companies are dangling gym memberships like carrots in front of a rabbit.

Most of these are not good jobs. These are jobs with extremely high turnover. Look at what’s happening with Amazon. Managers are worried about…
