“Do what you’re passionate about.”

Everybody says that.

So why not do something you love for work, follow your passion and enjoy your long career. Sounds easy, right?

But at 18–25, who knows what they love or what they are passionate about?

The answer? Not many people. A person changes jobs around 12 times in their life. And a third of 25–44 Americans are in a different career field than their first job out of college.

So there will no doubt be a bit of change in your career.

But say you have found your passion. Can it pay the bills or cover your debt from your expensive education?

In most cases, probably not.

End result?

Most people feel lost or just settle for the highest-paying job they can find. Three years later that same person is unhappy, questioning their decisions and switching careers (sometimes for the 2nd, 3rd or 4th time).

Enter consulting.
