A day of mixed feelings — almost a month back I decided to go for a yoga retreat amidst the foresty part of Bangalore, the city I live in.

Preparations were on the go, picking up clothes to texts that I planned to indulge in for 7 -days of the retreat.

But this morning I got to know — it got canceled for some reasons.

I felt completely stumped — this retreat was supposed to be an anchor for me during times of uncertainty.

I had to share so many details of my learnings with you, now what would I do?

With so much changing, a week of solitude in nature following a routine that would bring a sense of balance in my mind, body, and spirit was important.

Now how do I look for another activity for rejuvenation, what do I do? Panik engulfed my being and I hysterically started googling alternative options.

After a few moments of agitation, a sudden feeling of acceptance and surrender to the situation overtook my being and I moved on.

With a feeling of disappointment knocking my consciousness time and again, but not to a level to knock me out completely.

This was something new, how did a person like me, who used to resit everything that went against my will, peacefully accept today's situation?

What had changed after all?

I’ll leave it up to you to decide, what caused this change?

Let’s talk about today's questionnaire —

  • How did I start my day?
  • What did I eat?
  • What did I accomplish?
  • Where did I mess up?
  • How did I end my day?

How did I start my day?

Woke up at 6:45 a.m. today and sipped on some water.

Spent some time in bed after waking up and read a few pages.

Organized my room and took a cold shower followed by making my bed.

Had to go to the office early so after 3 consistent weeks of meditating with the trainer, had to pass today.

Sat for a 15-minute meditation session by myself and got ready for work.

What did I eat?

Breakfast — Ragi idlis with tomato chutney, a bowl of pomegranates, a handful of blanched almonds and walnuts.

Breakfast Time — 8:30 a.m.

Lunch — A bowl of potato and leek soup, corn spinach, and soya bean curry, grilled veggie mix, ragi balls, and sambhar.

Lunch Time — 1:00 p.m.

Dinner — Pesto pasta

Dinner Time — 7:00 p.m.

What did I accomplish?

Didn’t lose my sh*t over uncontrolled changes in life, just watched the emotions pass by.

An hour of writing my daily blog.

Finished my office To-Do list by 70 %.

Where did I mess up?

Took too much food for lunch, and couldn't finish the entire portion.

Went to bed late.

How did I end my day?

Took a brisk post-dinner walk, spoke to my family, and went to bed.
